Taken just over 14 months to build from scratch in my garage.

I started with an AB code swing axle gearbox which I purchased on Ebay from a couple who broke their beetle, I refurbished it on a bench made of a couple of workmates and a kitchen top, then after getting an AB code 1300cc engine from Volks Weld Ltd in Pool.

 I began to refurbish that, it’s completely standard apart from the electronic ignition, new barrels and pistons, reground crank, all new bearings, new clutch, rebuilt carb, new alternator, fuel pump.

With the use of Ebay I got the rear end on a Beetle chassis which I sent to B&I Engineering in Huddersfield who made the chassis for me.

The front end is Harley Davidson all again found on Ebay most parts second hand but some new like the twin 5 gallon fat bob tanks and the 16”,  80 spoke front wheel.
